Terms and Conditions for Heritage Timber Services

These terms and conditions ("Agreement") govern the use of the timber heritage restoration services ("Services") provided by Heritage Timber ("we," "us," or "our"). By engaging our Services, you ("Client" or "you") agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Scope of Work

We will provide timber heritage restoration services as agreed upon in the project proposal or contract. This may include, but is not limited to, timber repair, conservation, replication, and finishing. Any changes to the scope of work must be agreed upon in writing by both parties.

2. Client's Responsibilities

The Client is responsible for:

 * Providing accurate and complete information about the project and the property.

 * Ensuring access to the site for our team to perform the Services.

 * Securing any necessary permits, approvals, or permissions for the work.

 * Notifying us of any known hazards or site-specific risks.

3. Pricing and Payment

 * Quotation: All prices are based on a detailed quotation provided before the work begins. This quotation is valid for 30 days 

 * Payment Schedule: A deposit of 30% is required to secure the booking and commence work. The remaining balance will be due upon completion of the Services unless otherwise stated in quotation where they may be stage payments dependent on length of time estimated

 * Late Payments: Invoices not paid within 30 days of the due date may incur a late fee of 3.5% per month.

4. Project Timeline

We will provide an estimated project timeline. While we strive to meet these deadlines, they are not guaranteed and may be affected by unforeseen circumstances such as weather, material availability, or hidden structural issues. We will communicate any significant delays to you promptly.

5. Materials and Subcontractors

We will use high-quality, period-appropriate materials and techniques for the restoration work. We reserve the right to engage qualified subcontractors to perform specific parts of the Services, provided they meet our standards.

6. Intellectual Property

Any designs, drawings, or unique restoration techniques developed by us during the project remain our intellectual property, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

7. Warranty and Liability

 * Warranty: We warrant our workmanship for a period of three years from the date of completion. This warranty covers defects in our workmanship but does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, or acts of nature.

 * Limitation of Liability: Our liability is limited to the total value of the Services provided. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

8. Health and Safety

We will adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations. We expect the Client to provide a safe working environment and to inform us of any on-site safety concerns.

9. Termination of Agreement

Either party may terminate this Agreement with 14 days written notice if the other party breaches a material term of this Agreement. If the Client terminates the agreement without cause, any deposit paid may be forfeited.

10. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom
